Teammate problems

Calls to one account fail for one person (USER_PERMISSION_DENIED), a product connected through a teammate's Google login, a teammate who cannot make changes or switch accounts on, and a teammate whose access stopped.

How a shared workspace works: each person connects their own AI assistant and their own Google login, and each person's calls run through their own login, on the accounts the workspace has switched on that their login reaches. Only the workspace owner switches accounts on and off, presses Refresh accounts, sets roles on the Team page, and manages billing. See Team and seats.

Calls to one account fail for one person

What you see. Your calls to one account fail, though the account is listed and switched on, and a teammate's calls to it may work. AdCopilot says your Google login "is not recorded as having access to it", or Google refuses the call with USER_PERMISSION_DENIED. Google's message may mention a login-customer-id header, and a full_audit can list every check as not evaluated.

Why it happens. Each person's calls go out with their own Google login. The account list is the workspace's: an account a teammate's login reaches shows for everyone, and once it is switched on everyone's assistant can ask for it, but AdCopilot sends the call only when the caller's own login was found to reach the account. A teammate's Connect another account changes only that teammate's own login, but the accounts the new login reaches join the list for everyone (new ones switched on up to the plan's account limit), and the accounts their old login found leave it. A teammate joining changes nothing by itself.

Fix. Find the login your calls use, then give it access to the account in Google Ads or connect the login that has it. If nobody should use the account, the owner switches it Off. The steps are in USER_PERMISSION_DENIED, and for AdCopilot's own message in It is on, but your Google login cannot open it. Refresh accounts won't change it until that login has access.

If it persists. Write to [email protected] with the workspace name, the account's name, the login your Google Ads card names, and the error text.

A product is connected through a teammate's login

What you see.

Google Analytics 4 is connected in this workspace through a teammate's Google login, not yours. Connect it with your own Google login at app.adcopilot.cloud/accounts — then I can see which visits turned into enquiries.

On Google products, the card says Not connected to your login and "Connected by a teammate. Connect your own Google login to use it here."

Why it happens. Your calls run through your own Google login, so a product a teammate connected does not reach your assistant.

Fix. On Google products, press Connect on that card (it names the product, for example Connect Google Analytics 4), sign in with your own Google login and approve Google's screen. Nothing to do in your AI app. Your login needs its own access to the property, site or container in that product.

A teammate cannot make changes

What you see. The teammate's assistant has no tools that change anything, or a change is refused with "Tool '…' is not enabled for this subscription tier." The Tool calls page shows the reason tier.

Why it happens. The teammate has the viewer role, which reads only. The same happens to everyone when the workspace is read-only after a cancelled or unpaid subscription.

Fix.

  1. The owner opens Team and changes the teammate's role from viewer to member.
  2. The teammate reconnects AdCopilot in their AI app, so its tool list includes the tools that make changes; see Reconnect your assistant.

If the whole workspace is read-only, see Billing and payment issues.

A teammate can't switch accounts on or refresh them

What you see. On Google products, a teammate's Your accounts table shows a Status column ("enabled" or "off") instead of switches, and no Refresh accounts. At the daily limit, AdCopilot tells a teammate to ask the workspace owner, by address, instead of giving a link.

Why it happens. Switching accounts, refreshing them and paying are the owner's.

Fix. Ask the workspace owner to make the change.

A teammate's access stopped

What you see. Every call from the teammate's assistant fails with invalid or inactive access URL.

Why it happens. Their place in the workspace was removed or switched off.

Fix. The owner writes to [email protected], the address the Team page gives for seats, to switch the seat back on. See "invalid or inactive access URL".

Whose approval is it?

Under Connections → Connected apps, an assistant a teammate approved says "Approved by a teammate. They or the workspace owner can revoke it." Only they, or the owner, can press Revoke on it.
