Access
What you actually grant
Stated in the words you would use, because you are being asked to make a decision here.
- What you are granting
- Read and edit access to the Analytics properties your login can already open: reports, conversion events, custom definitions and data streams.
- What it can never widen
- It runs as you. If you cannot open an account or a property in Google's own interface, the connector cannot reach it either, and no setting on our side changes that.
- Where the grant lives
- In your own Google account, on its permissions page, where you can withdraw it at any moment without asking us first.
Connect it with the Google account that opens the property. This is a separate consent from Google Ads, and either one works without the other.
Google is still reviewing these permissions, so the consent screen may warn you that the app is not verified. You are granting access to your own account either way, and you can withdraw it from your Google account at any time.
Questions
Four short answers
The four things people ask before they connect this one, answered without hedging.
It can create and update conversion events, custom dimensions and metrics, and data streams — the definitions a report needs in order to exist. There is no tool that removes any of them.
Reports run live against the property. Queries run live against your account; audit reads are cached for up to an hour and a saved audit's findings for 180 days; we log each tool call; and your workspace's business profile is kept until its owner deletes it.
No. Each product is its own consent. What Analytics adds is what happened after the click, which is the half the ads account cannot see on its own.
Yes. Google publishes an open-source Analytics MCP server, and it reads: reports, realtime and property metadata, nothing that writes. AdCopilot's hosted connector covers Google Analytics with 23 tools usable once connected, 11 read and 12 write, as of v2.16.0. The writes register conversion events and custom definitions, and each one runs only with your approval in your AI client.
